SABRIA BEHILIL

Sabria joined Fideres in August 2024 and is based in the London office. Prior to joining Fideres, she worked as a competition economist in another consultancy. She holds a PhD in competition economics from the University of East Anglia (UEA) where her thesis focused on the competitive implications of common ownership. The primary contribution of this work was the development of a theoretical model which links the ownership matrix of a market to the level of competition prevailing. During her PhD she completed an internship with the Competition and Markets Authority where she helped with the State of Competition II report – conducting analysis and drafting sections of the report relating to the chapters on entry and exit, and common ownership.

Sabria also holds an MSc in competition economics from UEA. Her dissertation was a theoretical analysis of network models in public good games, with application to process innovation and competition policy. During this period, she also worked as a research assistant for New York University Abu Dhabi where she helped with the empirical analysis of the paper corporate self-regulation of imperfect competition (Cres & Tvede, 2022).

She completed her BSc in financial economics at Bangor University and won the Craig Williams Memorial Award for the highest score across all degrees in the business school.
