James Spindler is the Hart Chair in Corporate and Securities Law at the University of Texas School of Law. He has been awarded degrees from Princeton University (A.B. certificate in Political Economy), Harvard University (J.D. in Law and Economics) and U.C.L.A. (P.h.D in Economics). Professor Spindler has been selected for a NASDAQ OMX Capital Markets grant, and was the principal investigator for the Southern California Innovation Project examining "The Impact of Securities Law Reform on Entrepreneurial Effort". He has produced research that addresses corporate governance, commercial transactions, securities fraud, executive compensation, and financial regulation. He has acted as an expert witness in approximately 50 cases related to the aforementioned subjects.
