Fideres Writes To The European Commission To Flag The Anticompetitive Implications Of IBAN Discrimination
Fideres flags the anticompetitive implications of IBAN discrimination with the European Commission.
Fideres has entered an agreement with Italian law firm Studio Legale Scoccini & Associati, Spanish law firm CCS Abogados, and litigation funder Antitrust Litigation Investment (ALI) to launch a new class action claim against the Italian cardboard cartel in Spain. The case follows the Italian Competition Authority (AGCM) investigation in the market for corrugated cardboard sheets and the market for corrugated cardboard packaging.
The price-fixing cartel took place between 2005 and 2017, and involved the main manufacturers of corrugated cardboard sheets in Italy. The AGCM claim resulted in aggregated fines reaching €287 million, on top of private litigation claims. In this new case, Fideres will provide expert testimony services to estimate the economic damages suffered by corporate acquirer of carboard in relation to Spain.
